All prices are based on payment by credit card. The deposit is required to be paid by credit card. A 2.99% discount will be deducted for each payment by check for the balance.

Transportation to and from resort on Land Packages

Transfers between airports and hotels are arranged for the main group and are coordinated with the main group’s flight itineraries. It is incumbent upon the participants to adhere to this recommendation, cost for off schedule transportation will be the responsibility of the participant.

Roommate requirement

It is the responsibility of the participant to identify a qualified roommate. The Trip Coordinator will aid, however, if a roommate is not identified prior to trip cancellation date, the participant has the option to pay for a single supplement if available or cancel less club cancellation fee before final payment.

Forms of Payment
Space City will no longer accept cash as payment for trips. Credit Card, Check and Money Orders are acceptable forms of payment.

**Amalfi Coast + Rome - Signup begins 9/12/23 at 7:00 pm.
Things to know about Amalfi signup:

1) The deposit is to be made with credit card only. It will be 16% (not 15%) of Full or Land Package Price.

2) TPP insurance - Premier World Discovery (the tour operator) is offering travel insurance with cancel for any reason coverage for $425/person. The terms are outlined in a Travel Protection Plan (TPP) document which can be found on a link below. Please review it and make a decision prior to 9/12/23. This TPP is not mandatory. You may also buy a different plan from a different company or not buy insurance at all.

3) CANCELLATION POLICY- In addition to Space City cancellation fee of $30, our tour operator (Premier World Discovery) has the following cancellation fees if you do not have the TPP insurance.

Cancel 75 days or more prior to departure (from day one) Deposit of $500 or TPP is retained
Cancel 74 - 60 days prior to departure 25% of total price
Cancel 59-30 days prior to departure 50% of total price
Cancel 29-15 days prior to departure 75% of total price
Cancel 14 days or less prior to departure No refunds

Note: Premier World Discovery does not allow traveler name replacement once reservation is submitted, therefore, please be aware that you risk forfeiting our $500 deposit if you cancel prior to 75 days unless you have purchased the Travel Protection Plan (TPP)

4) At time of deposit, you must complete the Participant Reservation Form located on Page 4 of 4 of the Highlights Flyer and email this Form to both trip leaders: amalficoast@spacecity.org and amalficoastatc@spacecity.org.

If you are buying the TPP, you must check off the appropriate box on the Form and mail the Form along with insurance payment (check or credit card) directly to Premier World Discovery at the address provided.

5) For those on a land package - there is an option to purchase airport transfers that are not included in the land trip price.

Join us for the Highlights of the beautiful Amalfi Coast!

We are excited to offer an adventure to the Amalfi Coast in Italy October 2024. The Amalfi Coast is one of Italy’s most memorable destinations. It is deemed an outstanding example of a Mediterranean landscape by Unesco. We will stay all 5 nights in the area of the historic resort town of Sorrento which is a perfect base for our wonderful day trips around the Amalfi Coast. Our itinerary includes touring Sorrento, Amalfi, Positano, Isle of Capri, Naples, and Pompeii.

We will end our tour with 3 nights in Rome visiting many of the top “must-see” sites. This adventure has a great amount of walking sometimes on the European cobblestone streets so bring your most comfortable shoes!

Offering panoramic sea views of Bay of Naples, Mt Vesuvius and Ischia, Hotel Mary is on the coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula in Vico Equense. It is close to landmarks in the city center. It also offers a private deck with direct access to the sea, outdoor pool and spa. The hotel is 800 m from Vico Equense train station.
3 Nights - Smooth Hotel Rome West or similar - a 15-minute walk to the metro station to get you around on our free day

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1 Tues Oct 22: DEPART US
Board your overnight flight from IAH to Rome, Italy.

DAY 2 Weds Oct 23: ARRIVE ROME ITALY – SORRENTO COAST
Welcome to Italy! After clearing customs, we will meet up with our Tour Director who will assist us getting to our Sorrento area hotel, our base in the Amalfi Coast. A Welcome Dinner is included this evening. (D)

DAY 3 Thurs Oct 24: SORRENTO COAST
We will start the day with a Sorrento Walking Tour, a coastal town facing the Bay of Naples on the Sorrentine Peninsula. Sorrento is known for its sweeping water views and Piazza Tasso, a cafe-lined square filled with artisan shops. This historic center is home to the Chiesa di San Francesco, a 14th-century church and believed to be the birthplace of Limoncello. We will visit a Cheese Factory. There will be free time to explore, shop and enjoy lunch on your own. The evening will be free time. (B, D)

DAY 4 Fri Oct 25: POSITANO -AMALFI (UNESCO)
After breakfast, we will have a full day excursion of the Amalfi Coast. The Amalfi Coast claims to be Europe’s most magnificent stretch of coastline. Amalfi was once a maritime power to rival Venice. Its golden age is symbolized by its stunning cathedral and the Piazza Duomo. We will enjoy a Limoncello Demonstration & Tasting. Then we head to picturesque Positano, a town full of fashionistas, wealthy jet setters and upscale shops. (B, D)

DAY 5 Sat Oct 26: SORRENTO or ISLE OF CAPRI
Enjoy a day at leisure or join the full day optional day trip to the Isle of Capri (additional cost). Capri is an enchanting and picturesque island, one of the Mediterranean’s must-see places. We will board a jetfoil boat for our journey across the Bay of Naples to the Isle of Capri. At the port of Capri, we will transfer to Ana Capri with free time to explore on your own or visit the Villa San Michele. We return to Capri for free time to explore and have lunch on our own. (B).

DAY 6 Sun Oct 27: SORRENTO COAST or NAPLES
Enjoy a full day to explore on your own or join the optional guided tour to Naples (additional cost). The excursion includes a panoramic Naples City Tour, seeing the Cathedral with its treasured chapel and basilica. We will drive to Plebiscite Square to see the Royal Palace, the beautiful church of St. Francesco di Paula, the Town Hall Square and the New Castle. The tour ends with an included lunch at a local Naples pizzeria. The afternoon is free to shop and explore Naples on your own. (B)

DAY 7 Mon Oct 28: SORRENTO - POMPEII – ROME
We depart the Sorrento area for Pompeii, one of Italy’s most unique and famous archaeological sites. We’ll have a guided visit where we see a city perfectly preserved as it was on that fateful day 2,000 years ago, when Mt. Vesuvius erupted covering the city in deadly volcanic ash and lava, literally stopping time in its tracks. We continue onto Rome, the capital and largest city in Italy and the center of power, culture and religion. Check into your Rome hotel for a three night stay. Dinner, with wine, is included tonight. DAY 8 Tues Oct 29: ROME - VATICAN MUSEUM
Enjoy a Rome City Tour to see some of the highlights of the city such as, the Colosseum, The Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus, Piazza Venezia, the Pantheon and more. Next it’s off to visit another country – Vatican City. With our expert local guide, we’ll tour the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, Michelangelo’s Pieta as well as Bernini’s seven story bronze canopy and more. Enjoy the evening at leisure in Rome.(B)

DAY 9 Weds Oct 30: ROME AT LEISURE
The entire day is free to explore Rome on your own. Perhaps a tour inside the Colosseum, a walk on Via Veneto, indulge in an espresso in the Piazza Navona, climb up the Spanish Steps, sample some gelato at a local café or shop for souvenirs. (B)

DAY 10 Thurs Oct 31: ROME - FLIGHT HOME
Transfer to the airport today for our flight home filled with wonderful memories of your Highlights of Italy’s Amalfi Coast & Rome tour. (B)
