Max and Marsha (hereafter known as M&M!) are excited to be the Trip Coordinator’s for the Texas Ski Council Traditional Ski Week to be held at Beaver Creek in January 2024.

Beaver Creek‘s slogan is “Not exactly roughing it" and it gets this for many reasons.  When you enter the gates of Beaver Creek resort, you know you are in for a treat of true luxury.  The Beav as locals call it offers impeccable service with its staff of red coats willing to help you with everything from carrying your skis to offering you a tissue. Even walking to the lifts is eased with escalators, and at the end of your ski day, they give you free chocolate chip cookies.   The Beav is not just Vail’s younger brother, it is a top world class resort on its own.   It is also less busy and less crowded than Vail.  But if you feel the need to ski a day at Vail there is a public bus that will get you there in less than 30 minutes.

Beaver Creek offers a mountain perfectly designed to welcome alpine enthusiasts of all kinds and unparalleled mountain terrain for all ages and abilities. It is known for its long, winding, sun-soaked cruisers in perfectly groomed corduroy snow.  Intermediate skiers will enjoy a few favorites: C Prime in Rose Bowl, Larkspur in Larkspur Bowl and Gunder's in Bachelor Gulch.  For experts, you can tackle the bumps of Birds of Prey to the treed powder shots of the Royal Elk Glade to the hidden backcountry-esque steeps of Stone Creek Chutes.  For skiers looking for easier terrain, there are two dedicated green only areas at Red Buffalo and McCoy Parks.  Beginners and intermediates have their own mountain at Arrowhead and Bachelor Gulch which are filled with great cruisers.

 The Borders Lodge
We are staying at The Borders Lodge which is nested into the hillside in one of Beaver Creek’s most coveted ski-in/ski-out locations. It offers elevated comfort, with residence features such as mountain and village views from the balcony, well-appointed kitchens, stone fireplaces, and private laundry.  The ski-in/ski-out lift is #14 Elkhorn lift and is directly in front of the building.  It offers access to green and blue runs, and you can easily get to the rest of the mountain from this lift.  A free shuttle bus has a stop near the front door and will take you into the village and other parts of the ski mountain.
