MS 150 Volunteer Weekend

Space City Volunteer Opportunity

Saturday April 27

You’ve heard about this 180-mile journey for 5000 cyclists to ride from Houston to LaGrange, then to College Station?  The cyclists are raising $10 million for MS to support the mission of the National MS Society.  SCSC has a volunteer opportunity to work with medical professionals in the Medical Support group to assist the cyclists to meet their fundraising goal.  No medical experience is needed.

Wanna Help?

Volunteer for 1 or both days of April 27-28 weekend.

1 to 4 people will be assigned with medical professionals at one of the 9 Rest Stops on Saturday April 27, and one of the 6 Rest Stops on Sunday April 28. Hours will depend on the Rest Stop location.  Hours are between 4 to 8 hours long, from 6am to 6:30pm, all dependent on the 100-mile location along the route on Saturday and 80 miles on Sunday.

What will you be doing?  Tasks include logging in cyclists that need treatment, handing out OTC drugs, duties like a triage nurse, providing ice packs for injured cyclists, assisting cyclists with Biofreeze, some massages, and all kinds of misc. tasks.

Overnight cabins are provided by MS 150 for Medical Support volunteers at a church camp near LaGrange.   Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast will be provided.  Gas for personal cars will be reimbursed by MS 150. If you have an interest in volunteering your time either or both days to assist 5000 cyclists meet their fundraising goal to benefit MS, Register now.
