Accommodations:

I mention the accommodations first because we are staying at the historic Huntley Lodge at the base of the mountain.   Many of the lodge rooms are ski in/ski out and all the rooms are close to several lifts.   Even more exciting is that the Lodge has undergone a complete renovation.   All the rooms were renovated in 2021 and all the common areas are being re-done as you are reading this.   These renovations will be completed before our arrival in 2023.

We will be sleeping in hotel rooms.  One room for two people.  Our stay includes a free breakfast buffet..  Not just some hokey-pokey breakfast buffet, but a pull out the stops, keep you fueled all day, kind of breakfast buffet.   We will be pampered with Daily Housekeeping.  There is The Chet restaurant and bar for evening camaraderie..   The Solace Spa offers up various massages and facials, and a Post Ski Recovery Lounge that offers Theragun and Pro Compression services.  Laundry facilities are also available.  The Huntley  has on site  ski rental and delivery, so you won’t have to go far to get your skis.  Baggage handling will be available on arrival and departure!!


Transportation:

 

We are filing a fabulous flight plan.  Non-Stop, Baby!!  Houston to Bozeman on United Airlines.

The shuttle bus is scheduled around the above flights.  If you choose the Land Package and are NOT on the above flights, you must arrive at the same time or earlier and depart at the same time or later to guarantee a space on the bus.  Keep in mind, flight schedules change.  The airport is 53 miles from the resort.

 

The bus will make a brief (30-minute stop) at an Albertsons for snacks and liquor.     Since we are at a hotel, we won’t need to wax poetic over the freshness of the  produce, so 30 minutes is do-able.  I will send out an email prior to the trip detailing how to order your items on-line for pick up during this stop.  There is also a market in the resort area for snack and beverage replenishment.  



The Mountain!!

Let’s face it.  It is the Lone Peak Mountain that draws everyone here.   It is a skiers paradise with 5,850 acres of terrain for all!

The base sits at 7500 feet which means more oxygen for you. Still at elevation, but not the dizzying heights of many other mountain towns.
Average snowfall is 400 inches a year with 58 of those inches in January..   That should be plenty for us to enjoy some great days!
The mountain has been undergoing some renovations as well!!  In 2021 The Swift Current6 chair was replaced  with a high speed, heated seats, weather-proof Bubble Cover lift.  It is considered the fastest chair in North America.  
Additionally, there are two other high speed,  heated and bubble covered chairlifts.   Nothing like enjoying some comfort in the cold weather!!

Green:  15%  Voted #1 in N. America for Best Beginner Terrain!!
So, 5800 skiable acres with 317 ski runs.  The longest run being 6 miles!!!


Additional enhancements  are being made to the Lone Peak tram which services advance and expert bowls and runs.   The Tram is an additional daily fee that can be added to your IKON or Lift Ticket passes.  More about that at bigskyresort.com    
Not only have the common spaces, rooms, and Tram been renovated, but the resort is adding….. an Umbrella Bar at the base!!  Let’s hope they have Bubbles….I do so love Bubbles, especially if I can share them with you!






Which brings us to the fun!

The Huntley will be gifting us with Goodie Bags.   Let’s make the pick up a little meet and mingle in the Lobby!!  The Huntley has a bar (yippee!) for congregating and the lobby has a fireplace.    I can’t wait to put my feet up somewhere….how about you?!!
I am looking for that perfect place for our Space City Ski Club gathering on Sunday or Monday night.   And we have our daily  meet ups for  lunches and after ski  gatherings.  These gatherings are a great place to meet your fellow travelers and so many friendships have been made on these trips! The Exchange (also renovated), located next to the Huntley, has multiple casual dining and drinking options.  This venue gives easy access for skiers and non-skiers.  
This can all be yours….if….you sign up when the trip opens!!



Lift Tickets:


The IKON pass is accepted at Big Sky Resort.   (Does not include Lone Peak Tram but it can be added, bigskyresort.com)

 

We have a couple different options for Lift Tickets.   Big Sky Resort newly offers the Flex Pass.  This pass is less expensive than our usual group lift ticket option.

Both Flex passes offer an additional 44 days of skiing in early or late season ( just in case  you happen to be in the neighborhood), 10% off dining and retail. Also, $40 dollars off window ticket prices should you decide to add an additional day.   Lone Peak Tram can easily be added to your Flex Pass.

Keep in mind that Flex Pass prices will go up during the Fall, so, if you are interested in using the Flex Pass, buy it early.  Read the rules/refund policies.

All registrants will receive a welcome email from me and it will include a mailing address for checks and a questionnaire for you to return.
