Our all-adults, all-inclusive resort is just 1 of 6 properties at the Barcelo complex and we can go anywhere we wish throughout the mega complex. There are many specialty restaurants, bars, pools, night clubs, and even a mall if you wish to shop.

Our rooms will be ocean view. And get this! Every patio has its own hot tub! Yet if you want to splurge, we are offering and upgrade where you may choose a walk out to a semi-private pool. All the rooms are of a luxurious minimalist style. The trip price includes the ocean view rooms. Roomies and couples may upgrade to the semi-private pool as long as there is availability.

Things To Do Outside of the Resort

With so much beach activities and other fun things being offered at the resort you hate to leave. However, there is much to do in the Yucatan Peninsula. Many people enjoy visiting Excaret. That’s an eco-themed park that where you can float an underground river, walk through aquariums, aviaries and other wild life sanctuaries. Many wish to stay for the evening theater featuring native Mayan Dancers and more. It’s a full day!

Another fun stop would be Xe-hal. This is a natural water park where you can river tube, zip line, snorkel and enjoy a laid back day of fun.

I’m most interested in booking a tour of cenotes. These natural swimming holes are found in the rainforest where one can snorkel in crystal clear water watching fish and other water critters. These isolated pools are drop dead gorgeous and so inviting on a hot day! Usually a cenote tour includes stopping at several unique locations. The video below is meant only to show you what a cenote is like. Where we go may actually be different.

All of the above excursions are not part of the trip price and will be paid by the participant while at the resort. This vacation is being offered as a land only trip. I will suggest and help coordinate your air travel. I found doing group air ended up being less flexible and more prone to individual problems because of restrictions, and pricing was not discounted. My duties will include making ground transportation. To take advantage of this you’ll have to arrive within certain time frames. I will probably prearrange for a couple of pick up times from the Cancun Airport. Those times will be determined later. Similar arrangements will be made for the return ground transportation.

My preference is to fly Southwest Airlines out of Hobby. Pricing is rather pricey at the time of this writing (Mid-June 2021). Internet applications suggest mid to late July will offer the best competitive pricing. I will keep everyone informed of what I do so that you may coordinate also.

Covid 19 Related Concerns

Currently, the US is requiring EVERYONE returning to the US from a foreign country to have a rapid Covid test. Of course, one has to test negative to gain entry. Covid testing is $15 (cost is not included with the land package) at this resort and the test must be performed 3 days before departure.

The rapid Covid tests have proven to be highly accurate if in fact you are negative. If you have concerns about testing positive and the ramifications then please contact me. I will be happy to send you more information. Frankly, I’m not concerned as I’m vaccinated but I know other people may be. We want you to be comfortable with the decision you make regarding this travel.
